The industry’s leading event is back with the mission to recognise the sector’s inspiring individuals, outstanding products and exceptional companies.

The ACR News Awards – organised by ACR News magazine publisher, Datateam Business Media – has been rewarding the hard work of professionals for over 20 years and it will head back to London on Wednesday 22 January 2020 for its next iteration.

“With the evolving nature of the sector, it is important that the ACR News Awards moves with the times”, explains Steve Bennion, event manager, “the 2020 edition of the event will go further than ever before to recognise the companies and individuals that make the sector shine, all while rewarding the market leaders in energy-efficiency as we look towards building a greener future”.

What’s new?

In recognition of reducing environmental impact, a collection of new categories have been added to the 2020 line-up. The ‘Environmental Initiative/Project of the Year’ category aims to reward the industry’s most environmentally conscious projects, while the ‘Non-Refrigerant Cooling Initiative/Project of the Year’ accolade will be awarded to a venture that utilises the alternative methods of cooling most effectively.

Joining these new categories is the ‘Maintenance Product of the Year’, designed to reward the products that are changing the servicing and maintaining marketplace, and ‘Retail Display Product of the Year’, an award designed to recognise the market leaders in the ever-evolving field of refrigeration and
retail-display.

All of these new categories will be judged by a panel of expert industry professionals, alongside the returning: ‘Alan Moor Award’, ‘Air Conditioning Product of the Year’ (sponsored by PACAIR), ‘Air Conditioning Ancillary Product of the Year’, ‘Chiller Product of the Year’ (sponsored by Climalife), ‘Heat Pump Product of the Year’, ‘Refrigeration Product of the Year’ (sponsored by 3Dplus), ‘Refrigeration Ancillary Product of the Year’ and ‘Trainee of the
Year’ (sponsored by Hawco).

The ‘Service Engineer of the Year’, ‘Website of the Year’ and ‘Wholesaler/Distributor of the Year’ (sponsored by Carrier/CIAT/Toshiba) categories will be decided by a vote, putting the power into the hands of the industry.
