Following huge demand from across the air conditioning and refrigeration sectors, the deadline for entries to next year’s ACR News Awards has been extended to Thursday 1 November 2018.
Serving as a final opportunity to fine-tune entries and compile accompanying documents, the extension of the ACR News Awards deadline gives industry a last chance to ensure that the best of its businesses, brands, products and people receive the recognition they deserve at the most prestigious awards event on the cooling calendar.

Editor of ACR News, Lynn Sencicle, commented: “This year has turned out to be phenomenally busy, with refrigerants driving product development and a hot summer which has been great for business, but left some people short on time.

“Although we’ve already received a surprisingly high number of entries, we’ve been inundated with requests to extend the deadline by people who don’t want to miss out on being a part of such a key event.”

A brief re-cap

Some changes have been made ahead of the 2019 series of the ACR News Awards, designed to reflect the industry landscape at large. It’s a testing time, as advancing trends towards heightened energy efficiency and reduced environmental impact, combined with tightening legislation, have required the entire sector to adapt fast.

However, air conditioning and refrigeration businesses have risen to the challenge and demonstrated their capabilities to develop new and effective solutions – and next year’s ACR News Awards, taking place at London’s Tower Hotel on Thursday 21 March, is set to champion these with an array of fresh categories.

Joining the existing line-up, the new categories include ‘Chiller of the Year’, ‘Heat Pump of the Year’, ‘Retail Product of the Year’, ‘Retail Project of the Year’ and ‘Building Energy Management Project of the Year’.

These will all be judged by an independent panel of industry experts, together with the established ‘Air Conditioning Product of the Year’, ‘Air Conditioning Ancillary Product of the Year’, ‘Refrigeration Product of the Year’, ‘Refrigeration Ancillary Product of the Year’, ‘Trainee of the Year’ and the Bitzer-sponsored ‘Alan Moor Award’.

Meanwhile, the newly created ‘voted for’ categories are ‘Website of the Year’ and ‘App of the Year’, and will be decided by an online industry vote alongside the returning ‘Wholesaler/Distributor of the Year’ and ‘Service Engineer of the Year’ categories. Voting will open on 14 November.

The introduction of no less than seven new awards categories means there are more chances than ever to win a coveted ACR News Award – and it’s now even easier for companies to put themselves in the running for a top accolade, with all entries and nominations being made online using the same form.
Entering the competition will see your company secure its place amid the industry’s elite, with the ACR News Awards serving as an independent stamp of approval for the highest quality products and solutions in the air conditioning and refrigeration market. The business benefits go without saying; heightened credibility and increased brand awareness open doors to new partnerships, contracts, customers and supply channels.
